About RABIS-DSR
RABIS-DSR belongs to a group of medicines called gastrointestinal agents used to treat acidity, heartburn, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, nausea, vomiting, the fullness of stomach, bloating, gas, helicobacter pylori infection, gastric and duodenal ulcers. Acidity occurs when the gastric glands produce more stomach acid required for digestion.
RABIS-DSR is a combination of two drugs: Rabeprazole sodium (proton pump inhibitor) and Domperidone (a dopamine antagonist). Rabeprazole sodium works by blocking the action of an enzyme called gastric proton pump, which is responsible for the production of acid. Domperidone works by increasing the movements and contractions of the stomach muscle. Together, RABIS-DSR helps in treating acidity-related problems.
Take RABIS-DSR 30-60minutes prior to food. Depending on your medical condition, you are advised to take RABIS-DSR for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you. Sometimes, you may experience common side effects such as dry mouth, stomach pain, diarrhoea, headache, and flatulence. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
Inform your doctor before taking RABIS-DSR if you have a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or intestinal obstruction. Talk to your doctor before taking RABIS-DSR if you have osteoporosis as RABIS-DSR may increase the risk of bone fractures on long-term treatment. Consult your doctor before taking RABIS-DSR if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. RABIS-DSR may cause dizziness, so drive only if you are alert. RABIS-DSR should not be given to children as safety has not been established. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side effects.
